Summer in London is something truly special.
The sun shines over the Thames, the city slows down a bit and everyone takes any excuse they get to be outside as much as they can.
Dinner al fresco is obviously a must-do, with extra brownie points if:
- it’s by the River
- you don’t have to queue for a table at said dinner spot
- there’s bubbly aplenty
Wondering how to hit the London Summer dinner jackpot?
Hop on, I know just the place!
Located on the edge of the water just a short (free!) boat trip away from Canary Wharf’s hustle and bustle, the new Anna de Codorníu ‘Terrace on the Thames’ is a little slice of Barcelona in the heart of London.
A 5-month collaboration between Codorníu, Spain’s oldest family-run business producing sixty million bottles of cava every year and the DoubleTree by Hilton Docklands hotel, Terrace of the Thames is just the spot when you’re city-bound but in need of a good dose of vitamin sea.
It’s just the spot to put your feet up…
With a glass of Anna in hand, of course!
The extensive cava menu features the classic Anna Blanc de Blancs Reserva, alongside lesser known Blanc de Noirs, Anna de Codorníu Rosado, Anna de Codorníu Dulce Ice Edition, Codorníu Zero (an alcohol-free option), as well as a selection of sangria-based sharing cocktails, Spanish beers, ciders and spirits.
The food also takes inspiration from Catalonia with a sharing tapas menu featuring the likes of albóndigas (meatballs), patatas bravas, chorizo al vino…
Quite the excuse to order up a feast!
Though you’ll want to leave room for the signature Anna paella…
It’s not quite the Spanish classic, but it’s made with a aaaaaaaaall the good stuff!
A little bit naughty but really, really rice!
Finish things off with choc n’ Baileys pud’ in a jar..
…and you’re all set for a pitcher perfect Summer dinner!
