Despite my refusing to accept it, it looks like Autumn is indeed, right around the corner… but (thanks goodness!) there might still be a few days of summer for us to enjoy before it all turns to golden leaves, rain and Pumpkin Spice lattes…
So better make the most of it when we still can!
Below are 5 top ideas to make the most of the end of Summer in London!
1. Take a walk along the Southbank
There truly is no season when walking along the Thames would be a bad idea, but Southbank is especially buzzy in the Summer.
With the whole of London’s landscape unfolding before your eyes, street performers, outdoor cinema events, ice cream stalls and many a restaurant terrace, it’s the perfect sunny day destination!
2. Escape to the French Riviera at Le Méridien Piccadilly
Can’t deal with another #holiday tweet? Escape to the sunny French Riviera for an evening!
Le Méridien Piccadilly Cannes-inspired Summer decor, complete with striped deckchairs, pétanque field and a dedicated food menu, will give you all the South-of-France vibes (but none of the airport stress, sunburns or mosquito bites!).
Very Nice indeed!
3. Scream for ice cream at Gelupo
Nothing says Summer better than ice cream, and the best place in the whole of London to indulge in frozen treats is Gelupo.
There’s 12 or so ever-changing, creative flavours to choose from at any given time, so make sure you share the scoop about which one’s best!
4. Explore London’s amazing street food scene
I said it before, I’ll say it again: London street food scene offers the best value for money you’ll get anywhere in the city, and with some of the most creative dishes around too.
From KERB popping up all across the city (and their newest, biggest venture yet open 364 days/year in Camden!), to ever-so-popular Street Feast, Borough Market, and lesser known (but just as impressive) Druid Street Market, Exmouth Market or Broadway Market, no matter where in London you are, you’re never far from a street food feast!
5. Take a dip in one of the city’s best outdoor swimming pools
If you’re in the mood for some back-to-nature summer experience in London, nothing can beat a dip in one of Hampstead Heath’s swimming ponds or the Serpentine in Hyde Park.
Beside those, London is also home to an impressive number of outdoor pools and lidos, dotted all around the city.
Simply fin-tastic when you can’t handle the heat!
What’s on your list of things to do before summer comes to an end?
